NANS-Türkiye Pays Farewell Visit to Nigerian Embassy Chargé d’Affaires, Discusses Student Welfare

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students in Türkiye (NANS-Türkiye) paid a farewell and appreciation visit to His Excellency Mr. Aminu, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Ankara, as he concludes his tour of duty in Türkiye.

The NANS-Türkiye delegation was led by Comrade Caleb (Fortunate), President of NANS-Türkiye, alongside Comrade Aderonke, Vice President of NANS-Türkiye. The meeting was also attended by the Embassy’s Minister for Trade and Commerce and Minister for Education.

During the meeting, the NANS-Türkiye leadership presented a report on the association’s activities, engagements, achievements and progress recorded so far this year. The report highlighted the organisation’s continued efforts to strengthen student representation, engagement and support for Nigerian students across Türkiye.

The meeting also provided an important opportunity to discuss some of the challenges currently facing Nigerian students in Türkiye. Issues relating to student welfare, access to support, communication and the need for stronger cooperation between the Nigerian Embassy and the student community were extensively discussed.

His Excellency Mr. Aminu, together with the Minister for Trade and Commerce and the Minister for Education, reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting Nigerian students and expressed readiness for continued and stronger engagement with NANS-Türkiye in addressing issues affecting students across the country.

The NANS-Türkiye leadership also expressed profound appreciation to His Excellency for his support, guidance, accessibility and encouragement throughout his tour of duty in Ankara.

His contribution has played an important role in strengthening the relationship between NANS-Türkiye and the Nigerian Embassy, and his support has contributed significantly to the progress and institutional development the association has recorded.

As a token of appreciation for his service and support to the Nigerian student community, the NANS-Türkiye delegation presented His Excellency with a farewell gift and wished him a safe journey back to Nigeria and continued success in his future assignments.

NANS-Türkiye remains committed to maintaining constructive engagement with the Embassy of Nigeria in Ankara and to ensuring that the welfare, interests and voices of Nigerian students across Türkiye remain at the centre of its activities.
